Margaretville Reference On Law & Order SVU
So I was watching Law & Order SVU last night. It was the one that guest starred Robin Williams. Anyway, the Robin Williams character needed an alibi for a crime...and he says "I was upstate trout fishing in the Espopus". I looked over at Leslie and I said, "wow, I know where that is, I used to fish there, its near my hometown, Margaretville"...Next words out of Robin Williams mouth was "I ate at the Margaretville diner and stayed at the Margaretville Lodge". Now that just blew me a way. Who would have thought? Too funny...

I just saw the 200th episode of SVU and was stunned by the Margaretville reference as well. I googled to see if there was any more information on the episode and came across your blog. I had to say hello from one former Margaretvillian to another.
Hey Jessica...how ya been? That was strange wasn't it? I couldn't believe it...I did a freeze frame on that business card to look a little closer. They got the zip code correct, but the address was wrong. It was somewhere off some interstate. If there is any town NOT near an interstate, its Margaretville.
There was definately no interstate in sight the last time I was in Margaretville (which was about 10 years ago). I am currently in Southwest Florida and won't even consider heading north unless it's during the summer months. (My brother - who lives in Syracuse finds this hilarious - especially when I break out my jacket when the temperature dips below 70 degrees.)
