Blogging from my droid
Well since the addition of facebook to my routine, I have totally slacked on the Harris family blog. So I figured I had better get with it. So, here it is...the first test post from my droid.

Its been almost a year since my Mom passed away. The kids still ask about her all her time allthough I'm not sure that they quite understand what really happened. We still feel really cheated that she was taken so young. Thankfully, she was smart enough to leave us a nice long video that she made in the months before her death. We haven't watched it yet, but plan too next week. I suspect that it will be pretty tough to watch and will be quite the tear-jerker.
Sorry for the Facebook cross post, I know this feeds gets picked up by facebook too...but here is a little video from last weekend at the Pour House.
Not much new to report. Added some new pictures of the kids...Check the photos section for more.
Hey all...Sorry no posts. I have been putting all my 'posting' on Facebook and on Twitter. You can follow me on at Twitter. Twitter is a bit tough to get used to. I have been on there for a while but I really didn't 'get it' until recently. Anyway, if you get a chance, you should check it out.
This is a really neat video I just ran across. Its all time-lapsed video - but it it some weird effects. Just check it out and you'll see what I mean..
Not sure, but we are all trying our best. My thanks go out to everyone who has sent us well-wishes. Its been tough thinking about the loss of Mom, but I still feel like it hasnt sunk in yet. I was talking with Charlie the other night and he brought up a good point. If you don't see someone everyday, it doesn't make that immediate impact. However, if you are living with someone and see them everyday, the impact is much greater, as it is with Charlie. Either way, we miss her.
Wow...and exciting day for me...Just remember that I am a computer nerd when you read this. Ben Forta, for those who don't know (hello Mom), is the Senior Technical Evangelist for Adobe. You know, the guys who make Flash & Acrobat & Photoshop - but more importantly to me, Coldfusion. Well, I learned lots and lots of things by reading Ben's many books. Occasionally, I would email Ben to discuss the goings on in the GIS (er, mapping) world and how it relates to Adobe and its developers. Well, he got wind of my work blog and in turn, blogged about it himself. Thats pretty cool to get a shout out from the man himself....Again, remember that I am a computer nerd...
So, I went up to Myrtle Beach Thursday night to see Moe., which incidentally is in heavy rotation on Riley's (er I mean Leslie's) Ipod. Riley has realy started to listen to music and actually like it. Currently his favorite has to be Cake's cover of War Pigs. In fact..as I am writing this, Riley just asked me to play Tailspin (Moe. - The Conch), which I obliged of course. He has good taste. I almost think he could have gone with me..Only problem was that the House Of Blues allows smoking inside and thats an immediate deal breaker for bringing a kid.
Things are busy in the Harris house these days. Both Riley and Sophie are in school 3 half days per week. School is over next week, so it already time for summer break. Leslie has been enjoying her 'time off' when the kids are at school. Shes been combing the thrift stores for deals to resell on Ebay. I've been very surprised at some of her finds and how much she can make on them.
